B.C. Canada Kootenay Valley - Multi Activity

4 Days in total - Lodge-based, all-inclusive: mountain biking; river rafting; half-day hike; cultural and wilderness activities, based on native teachings.
The Kootenay River valley in the Canadian Rockies offers the adventurous traveller, some exciting and varied wilderness biking, rafting, hiking and nature experiences. We will be mountain biking along ridges overlooking the Kootenay and Cross River valleys, PLUS rafting some exciting stretches of whitewater on one of the nearby rivers ranging from grade 1 to 5, PLUS hiking up to a lofty mountain ridge with spectacular views, as we trek, of peaks all around us, including the "Matterhorn of the Rockies", Mt. Assiniboine. All this and the opportunity to learn something about the history, geology, wildlife, and culture of the area.
The area is home to mountain goats, deer, and Golden Eagles at the higher levels and a wealth of wildlife in the valleys, including bears (which we will see from a distance only). This is an experience never to be forgotton.

Itinerary
Day 1 (Monday): Arrive at our lodge in the Kootenay Valley. A hot evening meal will be served before settling in to a relaxing evening / night in the cabins. D.
Day 2 (Tuesday): After a hearty breakfast, we spend the day on the mountain bikes exploring the valleys and ridges around the Kootenay and Cross rivers. We will enjoy spectacular views of the valleys along the way, as well as some breaks along the rivers to take in the natural gems such as waterfalls, plants and wildflowers, and a natural bridge. Day 3 (Wednesday): Bright and early we rise for breakfast then set out for a day long rafting trip down one of the nearby raging rivers. Depending much on the group and time of year, we can offer waters ranging from grade 2 to 5, and lunch will be served on the river bank. The river running will be a safe and enjoyable wilderness experience through the heart of nature, as things always look a little different from on the river. B, L, D.
Day 4 (Thursday): Today we take you up on a half-day hike to a lofty mountain ridge beneath the towering Tangle Peak. The walk will be slow and and your guide will give you plenty of information about the things you see around us. The view from the top of the ridge will be breathtaking with high peaks abound all around you, including the glacier covered Mt. Assiniboine. B, L.

You can book as an individual, but we need a minimum of 4 for the trip to proceed. The maximum size of the group on this trip is 8, unless special arrangements are made.
What is included
The price allows for joining at our lodge and includes, all food as stated in
the itinerary by the code (B, L, D.), drinks as served with meals. An
experienced wilderness guide who ensures your safety (briefing you on how to act
in bear country and watching out for you). Accommodation at our lodge for 3
nights. Mountain bikes and river raft, plus all group equipment.
What is not included
International airfare. Meals unless stated by the code. Personal insurance. Visa fees (if required).
Personal clothing and equipment. All items
of a personal nature. All drinks, unless served as part of a meal.
Airfare (From the

As a guide, the international airfare should be in the range £560
- £600 for economy class.
Visas
A visa is not required for passport holders from the USA and UK.

Comprehensive personal insurance, including search and rescue is required on this trip.
